For the second consecutive week, the MetroStars have called up defender Mersim Beskovic from the A-League Long Island Rough Riders.

Beskovic (# 19) will join the team tomorrow at Kean University-East Campus for practice in preparation for the MetroStars' home game on Saturday night against the Dallas Burn at Giants Stadium.

Beskovic, 22, played collegiately at St. Francis College in Brooklyn from 1997-2000. He was the 56th overall pick by the Tampa Bay Mutiny in the 2001 MLS SuperDraft, but was recently released by the MLS club.

Beskovic was also called up to the MetroStars for last Saturday's home game against the Mutiny, though he did not play.
